Event summary: Homestead Day is an educational community event focused on connecting current or aspiring homesteaders, gardeners, farmers, and local resources. The event is hosted by The Heirloom Farmer and held on our family farm. It takes place outdoors.
This is the third year for this event. In 2024 over 700 people attended.
We are looking for volunteers interested in helping with the event. Having volunteers helps the event run smoothly, helps keep the event free to attend and enables us to continue offering the event to the community!

We are accepting applications until May 1st.
We expect volunteers to:
Attend one volunteer meeting, they will be held on Thursday May 15th at 6pm and Friday May 16th at 7pm.
Wear a name tag (we will provide the name tag).
Arrive a minimum of 15 minutes before your shift.
Dress appropriately for the event, weather, and tasks.
We are looking for volunteers to do the following tasks, you may indicate in your application which tasks you are willing to perform:
Parking
o Assist with parking cars.
o Requires walking on uneven ground and distances. May be exposed to weather.
o Must wear a safety vest for the entire shift.
o Time slots available from 9am-6pm.
o Two-hour shifts.
Working at the welcome tent
o Welcome attendees to the event, explain the event activities, handout schedules and activities pages, enter attendees into the drawing, add attendees to our mailing list.
o Two people will be at the table working together.
o Two-hour shifts.
o Will be able to be seated during this time. Will be at a table under a tent.
o A basic script will be provided.
o Time slots available from 10am-6pm.
Moderating educational workshops
o Introduce the teacher for each workshop, keep track of time, assist with moderating questions and comments, give attendees stickers, track number of attendees.
o Will be able to be seated most of the time. Will be inside a classroom.
o Must be willing to keep the teacher on time and redirect attendee conversations as needed.
o 1 hour time slots available
o Time slots available from 10am-5pm.
Cleaning up after the event.
o 6-8pm.
o Folding up tables and chairs.
o Picking up trash, emptying trash cans.
o Taking down tents.
o Picking up parking cones and ribbon.
o Taking down signs.
We will contact you to confirm the details of your volunteer work once we receive your application. We will notify you of your shift(s) and details by May 10th.
