Are you looking for a yummy Christmas treat? Something to take to a party, or give as a gift? Try these chocolate covered peanut butter filled treats!

This recipe is an heirloom in my family! Passed down several generations, starting with my great Grandma Luceil who lived on a farm in Nebraska!

Add these to your recipe collection and keep this sweet treat going!

Merry Christmas!

Grandma Luceil’s Krispie Balls

Ingredients:

  • 3 1/2 Cup Rice Krispies

  • 1 Box Powdered Sugar (3 1/2 Cups)

  • 1 Stick Butter, Room Temp

  • 16 oz Creamy Peanut Butter

  • 16oz Chocolate Chips

  • 7oz Milk Chocolate Bar

Directions:

Add the chocolate chips and bar to a double boiler and heat on low heat while you make the balls. Be careful to not overheat the chocolate.

  • In a large bowl mix powdered sugar, peanut butter and butter.

  • Add in Rice Krispies and mix.

  • It works best to mix with your hands to evenly combine. You should be able to form the mixture into balls, if it seems to dry, add more peanut butter.

  • Press the mixture into 1in balls using your hands and place them on a baking sheet lined with wax paper or parchment paper.

  • Dip balls into chocolate, allow extra chocolate to drip off, place balls onto baking sheet to cool.

  • Enjoy or give as gifts!

Notes:

Makes approx. 40 balls

Original recipe calls for 1/2 a bar of Paraffin to be added to the chocolate, but I’ve found this is not needed.

These can be frozen or stored in the fridge, but are best enjoyed at room temp.
