Dear Abbie - Ugh, Cabbage Worms!

Dear Abbie: I have green worms all over my cabbage and kale, they are destroying it! What can I do?!?

Dear Gardener: Drink a strong cup of coffee, muster up some grit and go smash those worms! They are cabbage worms. Hand picking them off daily is the best option!

Prevention in the future can include planting pest resistant varieties (such as purple cabbage), using insect netting and encouraging beneficial insects in your garden such as parasitic wasps, lacewings and ladybugs.

Happy Gardening!
