I LOVED making these, and I know you will too!

This week I made some adorable botanical pumpkin decorations.

OH. MY. GOSH. They turned out amazing and it was so enjoyable.

From collecting flowers and leaves to decorating the pumpkins, this was so fun and relaxing!

I could not wait to share this with you.

All you need is:

• White pumpkins (we have lots available right now!)

• Mod Podge glue – I chose matte Mod Podge. A 16fl oz bottle was more than enough to make many, many pumpkins.

• Medium paint brush – I chose a ¾ in flat paint brush

• Fresh or dried botanicals such as flowers and leaves

Create Botanical Pumpkins:

Wash and dry your pumpkins.

Collect botanicals of your choice.

I enjoyed a beautiful fall afternoon walk with my dogs, took along a basket, and collected leaves, wildflowers and flowers from my gardens along the way. This was so much fun. I felt like a little kid playing in the woods!

Fresh and dried botanicals both work. Each will give a different affect. Dried botanicals may stick more firmly to the pumpkin. Dried or lighter weight botanicals can be easier to work with. But I had a lot of fun with the look of the fresh botanicals, especially the hydrangeas.

Test both and see what you enjoy!

I collected a whole basket of botanicals, filled a book for some to dry and used some fresh right away.

My favorite botanicals for this project include:

Hydrangeas (my absolute favorite!)

Ferns

Maple and oak leaves

Yarrow

Use Mod Podge and a paint brush to apply the glue to the botanicals as you arrange them on the pumpkin. Be sure to cover the botanicals well so they adhere to the pumpkin and are preserved by the covering of glue.

Get creative! Take time arranging and creating as you decorate the pumpkins.

As you work you will see a film over the botanicals, this will disappear as it dries.

Allow the glue to fully dry before moving the pumpkins. Once they are dry you can use them to decorate your home.
